Since then, characters have come and gone and there have been a few major hairstyles changes so I thought I would do an update. To see my old hair reviews click the following links: <a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/made-in-chelsea-girls.html">part 1 (the girls)</a> ,<a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/made-in-chelsea-boys.html"> part 2 (the boys)</a><br />
<br />
<b>Francis Boulle</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoJ6ip9U2r5-MP1tVZnmEZdyvRC9sigpA-feIstoAP_ETBT_FfrDdR5uC_XMolqweLiL4eUlagpKWp8CI64SK3iBGcBB9r5bZGpaXxqHx0s52Zru5Z71tJ3q5J0aJg3WarpXrs_u-gDKo/s1600/francis.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoJ6ip9U2r5-MP1tVZnmEZdyvRC9sigpA-feIstoAP_ETBT_FfrDdR5uC_XMolqweLiL4eUlagpKWp8CI64SK3iBGcBB9r5bZGpaXxqHx0s52Zru5Z71tJ3q5J0aJg3WarpXrs_u-gDKo/s1600/francis.png" /></a></div>
<br />
Not sure how I managed to leave Boulle out of my old made in chelsea reviews. He is my favourite character on made in chelsea I think. He was so adorable in series 4 with his relationship with Sophia - (WHY DID SHE LEEEAVE!). I like his awkward sense of humour and his so uncool it becomes cool style. haha. It is joked on the show about him being Ginger however his hair is not really that orange. In bright light it is a <a href="http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvzvwxdHLi1r3bpax.jpg">copper brown</a> in colour but usually it just looks like a <a href="http://i2.cdnds.net/11/45/618_showbiz_mw3_francis_boulle.jpg">rich brown</a> colour. He has a slight receding hairline although by keeping his hair longer it hides it a bit. His is hair is either just sort of messy or combed over to one side. <br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<b>Lucy Watson</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI2JDUCg9F7eNvMm3AnsmD4A1To-qtE4jIk1wWhMgLrCD114ESCkxy7avIFqEr49DieNSKSFgapwMvN3uzR4ELF3WlzFfXLFIqctfn2IUaJESXBrG7CFUnV_uGOq8QJWV0KR9djOWpeAY/s1600/lucy.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI2JDUCg9F7eNvMm3AnsmD4A1To-qtE4jIk1wWhMgLrCD114ESCkxy7avIFqEr49DieNSKSFgapwMvN3uzR4ELF3WlzFfXLFIqctfn2IUaJESXBrG7CFUnV_uGOq8QJWV0KR9djOWpeAY/s1600/lucy.png" /></a></div>
<br />
Lucy came into the show last season (season 4 i think) taking the role of the group bitch. However since then she has shown that she does have emotions and is in fact loyal, truthful and really funny. She's actually become one of my favourites. So Lucy's hair is straightforward much like her personality. Its quite long and worn either in a centre part or only slightly off to one side. She has some long-ish layers round the front of her face so its not all one length which creates some movement and gives her a playful look. When she wears her hair up she often leaves some of the layers out so they frame her face. I assume her hair is naturally straight but in some episodes she does wear it in <a href="http://www.radiotimes.com/namedimage/Made_in_Chelsea__Lucy_Watson____We_re_trying_to_fill_the_awkward_pauses_.jpg?quality=85&mode=crop&width=620&height=374&404=tv&url=/uploads/images/original/29512.jpg">loose waves</a>. Her hair reminds me of <a href="https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSXo4V9Kg_Jd24XaOXJ7geN-14ywx__6m70Cl_Fbu4gBIVVQ3Ai">Rosie's hair</a> a bit as it lies quite flat without volume but is still very glossy and sleek. There are some <a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8095/8515916583_c9dfc5b6c9_z.jpg">pictures</a> though where she has styled her hair to be more voluminous (back combing/blowing etc.) which makes her looks more glamorous. Overall though I think Lucy doesn't need a complicated hairstyle - Her relatively simple hair gives her a natural elegance. <br />
<br />
<b>Ollie Locke</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuXnAqn6wB8R2E229d2kp1FEcox15MYQRVANerj3Ig9RspmYcETL81mBtP_nC-kMYfjteK5wrtqZnIknTH1I2xOeOoFlOhIg3A_DhVzDXjzx_eUBSyjtAO7phEx9tIAWtfms4B0qJCxLQ/s1600/ollie.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuXnAqn6wB8R2E229d2kp1FEcox15MYQRVANerj3Ig9RspmYcETL81mBtP_nC-kMYfjteK5wrtqZnIknTH1I2xOeOoFlOhIg3A_DhVzDXjzx_eUBSyjtAO7phEx9tIAWtfms4B0qJCxLQ/s320/ollie.png" width="293" /></a></div>
<br />
Since I last talked about Ollie he has gone and got all his hair chopped off. !Okay so he didn't get it all chopped off. It is still longer than the majority of the other male characters. Her wears it pushed backwards in a quiff style. Personally I think this is a much better look for him. <br />
<br />
<b>Fran and Olivia Newman-Young</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx8utjOffIAHKDm2wmHaFuVC6npF4-mVnSP0tRidlq1jAulww3q721ND7_y33KB80D_zd8qCbRlzu7GxfJJoFf-J1fmpMDExBA79fMiGG56WCSFrlFwZUKlQ58LZdM_3iH2V2-3WMJFfc/s1600/fran.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="217" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx8utjOffIAHKDm2wmHaFuVC6npF4-mVnSP0tRidlq1jAulww3q721ND7_y33KB80D_zd8qCbRlzu7GxfJJoFf-J1fmpMDExBA79fMiGG56WCSFrlFwZUKlQ58LZdM_3iH2V2-3WMJFfc/s320/fran.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Fran and Olivia are sisters new to Made in Chelsea in the current series 5. As of yet I still cannot tell them apart really at all. However I have heard that their hair is the easiest way. One of them has light brown hair while the other has blonde. The one with brown hair (Fran i think) always seems to wear her hair straight and it always seems slightly greasy and the ends look a bit split. Her's is definitely the worst of the two. Olivia's hair is more glamorous, usually worn with a slight curl but also a centre part.<br />
<br />
<b>Andy Jordan</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGPD6aSbnDdAFuoJ3-EbqjRLJb7XJ5U6PqEmhOYYyeKiHK3WrcPvbAfZwXspC78yMBJ1fr2OA-o_nOvYN-XZ8x_lDCMtjkxz_sJA1dhfRTjiFXv6cKDmnda2fa_4Y2KwSla94oyHdVr6I/s1600/andy.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGPD6aSbnDdAFuoJ3-EbqjRLJb7XJ5U6PqEmhOYYyeKiHK3WrcPvbAfZwXspC78yMBJ1fr2OA-o_nOvYN-XZ8x_lDCMtjkxz_sJA1dhfRTjiFXv6cKDmnda2fa_4Y2KwSla94oyHdVr6I/s1600/andy.png" /></a></div>
<br />
Andy was also new in series 4. I liked him at first, then I found him a bit annoying but now I am back to liking him again. Especially since he's started skateboarding around Chelsea in some episodes. ! He has curly, quite messy hair. Occasionally he<a href="http://www.curtisbrown.co.uk/_assets/uploads/cropped/28855-square.jpg"> styles it </a>so its more sleek and suave looking but ususally its just left natural. I think I do prefer it more styled though. <br />
<br />
<b>Louise Thompson</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGJegdmk_hHvZz7zKTpLUySeDDyow_q0xzPhkXFG7ek6tssS_ILLZBWRsd2OwQUlzuC9JGBPp8zqe84aJagymkj0ZrOI96s0fTYN-3DNpmaLPtvtHt7QWCGQl71u7VEFSyNWFupZRIreo/s1600/louise.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGJegdmk_hHvZz7zKTpLUySeDDyow_q0xzPhkXFG7ek6tssS_ILLZBWRsd2OwQUlzuC9JGBPp8zqe84aJagymkj0ZrOI96s0fTYN-3DNpmaLPtvtHt7QWCGQl71u7VEFSyNWFupZRIreo/s320/louise.png" width="281" /></a></div>
Louise has changed her hair quite a few times since she joined the cast in season 2. Before it was just longer than shoulder length and all dark brown in colour. She wore it parted down the centre with a slight curl to it. However recently she has had the ends dyed a caramel blonde following the dip-dyed trend. Her hair is longer now and she seems to leave it pretty much unstyled giving her a slightly grungy look which i really like.<br />
<br />
<br />
I might do some more made in Chelsea hair reviews soon, let me know if there are any characters in particular you would like to see!<br />

<br />
<b>Curly Taylor!</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGmwZ3sO1F6qopxV49MRwFWsgRhUbQ4a7jDczA7rOSO6f_JfaCdnnJ0yHKdSc9Lr7JeyiHpKUgEjQXeDlfXoYC2J8XEN7S5DiD1-JlXv4kTSVHWcK8amYBHhyphenhyphenTLJqVKfzCQHQaT4x47e4/s1600/ts+curly.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="205" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGmwZ3sO1F6qopxV49MRwFWsgRhUbQ4a7jDczA7rOSO6f_JfaCdnnJ0yHKdSc9Lr7JeyiHpKUgEjQXeDlfXoYC2J8XEN7S5DiD1-JlXv4kTSVHWcK8amYBHhyphenhyphenTLJqVKfzCQHQaT4x47e4/s320/ts+curly.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Taylor was more frequently seen with curly hair in her early career. Apparently her hair is naturally curly but she often emphases her natural curls by using hair curlers. She has had hairstyles ranging from very <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWbEnc65OYSSwULQ3oux2syqqbjiErx-Usl1dk3Jhom7WzxTDoJdpZd8h6_UjIGDjbD7uQa3x-yq9L3jz0S2xQRRoY5ZK1mTEDsmIQNa1av7eyGglnMl4RRnHUafKGgubHGY5Rshyphenhyphenl/s1600/swifthair.jpg">tight ringlets</a> to <a href="http://www.hairstyleagain.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Taylor-Swift-long-curly-hairstyle5.jpg">loose waves</a>. The curls give her a romantic look especially combined with her blonde hair, fairytale looks and girly fashion. The album covers of all her first album (taylor swift until speak now) feature her with curly hair. When she has curly hair she wears her hair either parted in the centre or to the side sometimes with side sweeping bangs. <br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<b>Straight Taylor! </b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_wR6ioY3C4_XU4OXKyLRE4sZPuuAvmwb5BwXQtlyEGaHgABdD1VAgteAvJSFg862ZQOY8-rO5D33WhIMgZtZI2xnmnnVEHpuL_aB4T3Ta3GQbegkzKK6Mq3a64R4XLWZYGosfmSSsRAY/s1600/ts+straight.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_wR6ioY3C4_XU4OXKyLRE4sZPuuAvmwb5BwXQtlyEGaHgABdD1VAgteAvJSFg862ZQOY8-rO5D33WhIMgZtZI2xnmnnVEHpuL_aB4T3Ta3GQbegkzKK6Mq3a64R4XLWZYGosfmSSsRAY/s1600/ts+straight.png" /></a></div>
<br />
Taylor looks strikingly different when she has straight hair especially when she was younger like in parts of her music video<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjangwg7y18dgjcseFUuo1uXUwYUHIwJ7MeZf2pzAiPi15ExaZfuhGpbupgiaoBuv4o3JeRTo8tU1oG_EQrIQpcDKaUsKi6nmTcJ7vcYAHToMmQMZt1OgfbDDfVdrYlcUc2GE9nvnPWM7A/s1600/Our-Song-taylor-swift-2400830-720-544.jpg"> "our song".</a> In her video "You Belong with me" her hair is straight but with a messy texture, however she is frequently seen with very smooth sleek <a href="http://www.examiner.com/images/blog/replicate/EXID35831/images/ex_taylor_swift_straight_hair1.jpg">straight hair.</a> Her new album Red features her with straight hair unlike the previous albums. Recently she got a full blunt front fringe suited to straight hair and this has become her current look for 2012/2013. Personally I prefer her with straight hair and it helps tone down the girly romantic look she had in previous years.<br />
<br />
<b>Updos!</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNrJWJ36yqkEkVaq3BGALyjgaZBLqMgedNzbg4MV0XkdZ86fQwoktZL-7lqLT-nsBVgsSo4vSznmdjEihZgkOMVQeWJ9YOqdMS7kauNy77Aj5C134AsHjz_tHi-qa0OGY-lziUkAYAqHA/s1600/ts+up.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNrJWJ36yqkEkVaq3BGALyjgaZBLqMgedNzbg4MV0XkdZ86fQwoktZL-7lqLT-nsBVgsSo4vSznmdjEihZgkOMVQeWJ9YOqdMS7kauNy77Aj5C134AsHjz_tHi-qa0OGY-lziUkAYAqHA/s320/ts+up.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Taylor is also known for the fancy updos that she wears at awards ceremonies and also in some of her music videos. She often uses braids and waves keeping the curly texture of her hair. She also usually leaves hair out at the front to frame her face which again keeps the romantic image. Her video to "love story" demonstrates this well. Some of her updos take inspiration from the 20s such as in <a href="http://hairstylesweekly.com/images/2012/11/Taylor-Swift-Cute-Curly-Updo-Hairstyle.jpg" target="_blank">this photo</a> where she has a 20s style wavy bob and general vintage hollywood glamour such as <a href="http://www3.pictures.stylebistro.com/gi/Taylor+Swift+Updos+Retro+Updo+SSkSvW1gN8dl.jpg" target="_blank">here</a>. However since getting her front fringe her up styles have been a lot more sleeker such as seen <a href="http://cdn.blogs.sheknows.com/celebsalon.sheknows.com/2012/11/Taylor-Swift-hairstyle-side-view.jpg">here.</a> There are many many tutorial on youtube of how to do taylor swift hairdos, for example her <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZP0gBrrrD0g">2013 grammy's updo</a><span style="color: blue;">.</span><br />
<br />
<br /><b>Other Styles</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhknXhEJXZFKc8s1Xl1NxvCVbr4hw-8Z-uDNigGdsjUufMuExIG1GXMsOw5ihJFAfx7WK2V6r_xp34tf-zOHRy5uL1q4F-hj2YUbGlrzTRcrhyUUsaE6B_efEALosHDI5PN_y4hP5ChHUo/s1600/ts+brown.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhknXhEJXZFKc8s1Xl1NxvCVbr4hw-8Z-uDNigGdsjUufMuExIG1GXMsOw5ihJFAfx7WK2V6r_xp34tf-zOHRy5uL1q4F-hj2YUbGlrzTRcrhyUUsaE6B_efEALosHDI5PN_y4hP5ChHUo/s320/ts+brown.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
In music videos taylor has been seen wearing slightly different styles than she usually wears. For example in "You belong with me" she plays the part of the 'villian' herself by wearing a brown wig. She looks very different with brown hair but she can pull it off i think. In her music video for "I knew you were trouble" she also has slightly <a href="http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/12/14/article-2247868-16815F12000005DC-487_634x286.jpg">different hair</a>. This time her hair is dirty blonde in colour with the ends dyed a fading pink and cut short to look slightly punk. I'm assuming its also a wig. Still I like how its edgier than her usual look. <br />

I really loved this shampoo, maybe more for its vibrant yellow colour and pleasant smell than the effects of its colour lightening (read detailed review <span style="color: #741b47;"><b><a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/john-frieda-go-blonder-products-review.html" target="_blank">here</a></b></span>) however I have decided to try a different shampoo this time.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu8pu_-rZ40kIaiHnbp7Zby4Jmf3EqksbGu8s0gP39nz7gRDIKSyhfbKP1EN17nViEniy5nZkXdJoBdvk887PxtUvO-52Wwp1UH3OTion4RruDKddBJ2OZlB5tajqwRusmB_pHTA5EeB0/s1600/naked+blonder.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu8pu_-rZ40kIaiHnbp7Zby4Jmf3EqksbGu8s0gP39nz7gRDIKSyhfbKP1EN17nViEniy5nZkXdJoBdvk887PxtUvO-52Wwp1UH3OTion4RruDKddBJ2OZlB5tajqwRusmB_pHTA5EeB0/s400/naked+blonder.png" width="292" /></a></div>
<br />
The shampoo that I chose was the <b>Naked Blonder Lightening Shampoo</b>. I was interested in this brand because the products are 97% natural ingredients and do not contain harsh detergents including sulfates. I've heard from various hair guru's and website that sulfates are EVIL so I was interested to see if I noticed any difference from a more natural shampoo. Now obviously I have a slight obsession with making my hair more blonde which is why I went for the lightening shampoo from their range. There are many different types of shampoo that they do though including strengthening, curl defining, anti-dandruff, colour protect.. etc. (see <b><span style="color: #741b47;"><a href="http://www.nakedbodycare.co.uk/hair-shampoo-conditioner" target="_blank">here</a></span></b>). This time I also bought the matching conditioner. I never used to really use conditioners however I have since read that using shampoo without conditioner can be damaging to your hair so I have resolved to try using a conditioner again.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
There have been some reports with this shampoo that it does not lather up very well, the bottle itself says you may have to shampoo your hair twice to get a good lather. However this is not a problem I found. It applied very easily for me - I found the shampoo felt very similar to the John Frieda go blonder Shampoo. However it does not smell quite as good as the John Frieda product and is a less vibrant yellow colour I assume due to the fact that the naked shampoo uses more natural ingredients. The conditioner I really liked. It made my hair softer and more shiny without making it greasy as was the problem I found with some conditioners before. As far as the lightening goes I can't say I've noticed a great difference again. It has kept my hair looking vibrant and bright so I am satisfied with that. As for the natural ingredients making my healthier I haven't yet noticed any difference. Honestly I'm not so sure that using "less natural" chemicals on your hair is such a bad thing however I do like the idea that I'm being kinder to my hair. <br />
<br />
Overall I like this shampoo although maybe not as much as the John Frieda shampoo I was previously using. It did win though the "best shampoo for blondes" award in the <b><a href="http://2012.thehairawards.com/categories/hair-super-60/" target="_blank">Hair Awards 2012</a></b> (who knew they existed!) so maybe it is better after all...! The conditioner I liked more than the shampoo I think, however I will carry on using both for a while longer as overall it is a nice product and I would recommend them. I feel it is a good brand for people who are convinced by the whole "natural is better" thing. <br />
<br />
Here is a <a href="http://www.throughchelseaseyes.com/2012/05/naked-blonder-shampoo-and-conditioner.html" target="_blank">another good <b>review</b></a> to read for more information! :)Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-91286360250550966362012-12-26T18:37:00.001+00:002012-12-26T18:37:49.986+00:00University and HairHey readers! So I think I mentioned in my last post that I was starting University. Since then I have taken a small break from my blog which i am sorry for. I have had literally no time to even think about writing new blog posts. University is so fun but very busy and I've found I don't get a lot of time to myself. I am back from University at the moment for the christmas holidays so I've finally got chance to update my blog.<br />
<br />
Okay so University has taught me a lot. Fresher's week taught me for example that it takes at least 3 washes to get powder paint from a UV party out of your hair and that brushing your hair in the morning is not a necessity for people who've only had 2 hours sleep and have to drag themselves up to go to lectures. From experience I've found that even though you know that teasing you hair for a night out and using a load of hairspray will result in your hair being one massive tangle the next day you will still carry on doing it anyway.<br />
<br />
University life has also given me a different view of dry shampoo. While I still stand by my orginal coments in <a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/the-truth-about-dry-shampoo.html" target="_blank">this post</a>, I have found a new very important use for dry shampoo: You've been on a night out and haven't had chance to shower the next morning due to lack of sleep and having to get ready in about 5 minutes. Your hair is a greasy mess covered in sweat and grime form whatever club you have been in and possibly with vodka and lemonade split over it. The only way to look presentable is through the use of dry shampoo. So much so that I have run out of the original can that I bought and needed to buy some more. If like me, you party a little bit too much then dry shampoo becomes a saviour!<br />
<br />
This next year I have made it my new years resolution to update my blog more regularly. Look forward to new posts!!<br />

This is because I was watching their new music video Live While We're Young (because I am like always update with my 1D music.. ) and I noticed there had been some changes in their hairstyles since that post. Yeah so if you want to read the update you can read the post <b style="color: #990000;"><a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/one-direction-part-ii-liam-vs-justin.html" target="_blank">HERE!</a></b><br />
<br />
My other news is that I've just reached over 10,000 total page views which I thought was pretty cool. Thanks to anyone who reads my posts.<br />
I love reading other people's blogs so If anyone has a blog they would like me to check out just leave a link in a comment and I will take a glance!<br />
<br />
I'm starting university next week so I'm not sure when my next proper post will be, I've got a few things drafted that I just need to finish off before I post them so check out for them coming soon. Thanks guuuuys! :)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-e2kAAnWD-xCKLqJaYFfAOatCBDuSE9evL21q69N94kCL7Uv7bvvMhouGAtEU3ef1_ek2HG6zneq_zprVIvGhE-8Sv-pKmvz_6sGacrg98bG_NwqCOw-YOjEd_mPkDkDo06YUTm46SI/s1600/go+b+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-e2kAAnWD-xCKLqJaYFfAOatCBDuSE9evL21q69N94kCL7Uv7bvvMhouGAtEU3ef1_ek2HG6zneq_zprVIvGhE-8Sv-pKmvz_6sGacrg98bG_NwqCOw-YOjEd_mPkDkDo06YUTm46SI/s320/go+b+1.png" width="317" /></a></div>
So this is the John Frieda go Blonder spray. It comes in a small bottle as shown in the picture. The spray contains hydrogen peroxide which works like a hair bleach I guess to lighten your hair. You spray it all over damp hair and then apply heat - Thats it. The heat can be from a hair dryer or a hair straightener or both. I've heard the more heat you use the better the results. The spray very easy to use and smells nice when you spray it into your hair.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
The best thing is that is actually works. I can't really show you any before and after photos because its hard to see in photos due to different lighting, but you can tell it works because when your hair grows you start to get visible roots. Its a gradual change in colour though, you may not even notice any difference after the first spray but I found after I had done it a few times my hair was noticeably more blonde. Note - I wouldn't say it was particular lighter in colour, its more that it becomes a brighter more vibrate yellow colour. I love this spray, its amazing. I've tried things like honey masks and lemon lightening before to lighten my hair but it has never been very successful for me. Whereas this really does work. The only negative is that the bottle really is very small. Its not going to last more than 5 or 6 good sprays.<br />
<br />
The bottle claims the spray can be used for all over lightening (which is how I used to it), to create highlights or to blend in roots if you have already dyed your hair blonde. To create highlights would be very difficult and would take a lot of work to get it right so I wouldn't recomend it for highlights. However if you have dyed your already light brown/dark brown hair blonde it would be a great way to blend in your roots.<br />
<br />
Obviously though the spray has got hydrogen peroxide and other chemicals in which some
people do not like using on their hair. It also requires applying heat to
your hair which can be damaging. However, you only need to use
the spray a few times so the damage using the chemicals and heat should
not be too bad. Its worth it for me anyway. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZXxDWdhz-ZqEDKFCxR2MLeqXPbQJi8jpsMqMKUKAUU-I54tNx0gIVnEgp9NWV7GiTIDBiGZd6d_AgKNMkdKC0fU5I3D0vaDLscSaQ9sdif75Ak7VqsOQ1Re9B6GR1oFN9-NKHSS7iwEA/s1600/go+b+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZXxDWdhz-ZqEDKFCxR2MLeqXPbQJi8jpsMqMKUKAUU-I54tNx0gIVnEgp9NWV7GiTIDBiGZd6d_AgKNMkdKC0fU5I3D0vaDLscSaQ9sdif75Ak7VqsOQ1Re9B6GR1oFN9-NKHSS7iwEA/s320/go+b+3.png" width="181" /></a></div>
This is the Go Blonder shampoo. Now I don't have the conditioner to go along with this because I don't tend to use conditioners on my hair that much so I didn't bothered buying it as well. The shampoo/conditioners are different from the spray because they don't contain hydrogen peroxide so the lightening is more gradual and it can be used as an every day shampoo.This means you are not going to notice the lightening as you do with the spray. I can't really say I've noticed any change in my hair colour from using the shampoo however, because I used the spray at the same time it would be hard for me notice if there was any change anyway. I will probably keep using it though just because of my obsession with blonde hair. <br />
<br />
<br />
I do really like these products. Obviously they are only going to work if you have blonde hair to start with. My hair is naturally a dark blonde, its been getting darker as I've got older which is why I wanted to try these products. I've heard they may also work on light brown hair. From what I've seen, there isn't really any other products like this that you can get in a regular pharmacy. I suppose something like sun-in is similar to the spray, I am yet to try this out as there is very little sun where I live (its like permanently cold and raining in the north of England). I haven't heard too many good things about sun-in anyway. <br />
If you don't have blonde or light brown hair, this post is pretty irrelevant to you, however there is a similar product by John Frieda for darker hair called Brilliant Brunette which claims to bring out rich, multi-dimensional brunette tones and add shine. From reviews I've seen its meant to be quite good for making brunette hair richer in colour. Have you tried any of these blonde/brunette products? Let me know what you thought of them :)Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-22184831610405576482012-09-11T19:37:00.000+01:002012-09-11T19:37:33.923+01:00Liebster Blog AwardExciting times! I have been nominated for a Liebster Blog Award by Emily from <b><a href="http://echo-sierra.blogspot.co.uk/" style="color: red;" target="_blank">Echo-Sierra</a></b>: http://echo-sierra.blogspot.co.uk/ (see <a href="http://echo-sierra.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/down-low.html" target="_blank">this post</a>)<br />
From what I have been able to find out, the Liebster Blog award is given to people with blogs of less than 200 followers in order to help them gain recognition and increase their following. Each recipients then tags another load of people to carry on the chain.<br />
It works like this. First I post 11 facts about myself, then I answer the questions set for me by Emily and then I write my own questions for the people I tag!<br />

Its a reality TV contest show about BAKING. The best thing about this show is how it doesn't take itself too seriously. The reason I stopped watching shows like The X factor was because how they make it feel like whether a contestant gets through or not is a matter of life and death. Also its full of annoying sob stories and dramatic over the top music. The great British bake off however lightens the mood and gives an altogether more laid back vibe with witty humour, hilarious baking mishaps ('oh no I put salt in instead of sugar'"), quirky contestants and random cut scenes of mallard ducks and squirrels. If anyone is getting too stressed they like to send over presenters Mel and Sue to have a bit of a laugh with them and mock the other contestants to chill them out.<br />

(incidentally Mel is not in this article due the the fact she was not in last nights episode for whatever reason... soz) They are funny, entertaining and always show the contestants that there is something to smile about no matter how bad their tarte tatin is. Sue has a pixie hair cut and has done for the majority of her career. Its slightly stereotypical for a gay woman to have short hair but I actually really like it on her.<br />

I love Mary, she is really lovely. Along with Paul she judges the contestants baking i.e. spends the whole of the show eating cake - what a great job. She tends to be a lot nicer to the contestants than Paul though. Here I assumed she has dyed her hair a very pale blonde colour so it looks natural. Her hair smooth and silky and is quite a good length as well.<br />

Paul, on the other hand, is a bit of a meanie. His hair seems to have gone very grey this series. Was it always this grey..?! He has a standard short all over cut with a little bit left long at the front. He has gelled this bit up. I'm not a fan of the moustache-beard combo though. He looks more farmer than baker in this picture.<br />

<div style="font-weight: normal;">
<b> </b>Cathryn has spend the last 4 episodes looking terrified during all the challenges.She that sort of rabbit-in-the-headlights look about her. Although maybe she has slightly grown in confidence during the last episode. She does seem to be actually quite good and she's one of my favourites. I feel her hair makes her look a bit rag-doll-ish. Especially with her pale skin and red blush cheeks. Its cute though. She has a bob cut to chin length and then a thick side fringe<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Danny </b><br />

Danny seems to have hair pretty similar to mine except its currently cut shorter. She has a slightly off-centre part here and longish layers. Don't worry she does usually tie her back when she baking.<br />
<br />
<b>Sarah-Jane</b><br />

This is one all of the place hairstyle. I'm not quite sure what is going on either. She got a thin wispy side swept fringe. The rest of the hair is cut to shoulder length, in this picture some of the hair from the front is pull back and I assume clipped (?).<br />

Stuart got voted off this week. I mean I saw it coming (he was pretty rubbish) but I will miss him because he was so adorable - he's a rugby player who bakes! This episode he was wearing a flowery Hawaiian shirt, it was amazing. He has pretty standard male hair. Its short all over with a longer bit left at the front which is swept up.<br />

Ryan's got pretty funny hair. The sides are short and the hair is the middle is gelled up into a peak in the middle. He possibly over gels it though, its very spike.</div>

Or The Cardigan guy, Captain Cardigan or simple just Cardigan. I loved his cardigan alright. James is really good, he's going win - you heard it here first! Well I think he should win, he's consistently really good and seems always better than everyone else. His hair is longer and a bit more frizzy I guess but pretty ordinary.<br />
<br />
<b>Manisha</b><br />

I have a feeling Manisha might go next week, she wasn't very good this episode. Her hair is long with a side parting. I do like the flower hair clip though. Its a cute addition to spice up a tied back style.<br />

Or Old Guy as I have taken to calling him. He seem quite lovely. He is very well spoken and in one clip we saw him giving his cakes to all his next-door neighbors - aawww. Obviously he has no hair so I can't really comment except to say his head is very shiny. Good head shining there. He was star baker this episode and rightly so. He was definitely the best, winning the technical challenge and everything. <br />

He's one of my favourites. Here he is rocking the Justin Bieber fringe. He's another one who is just consistently entertaining so I hope he stays in a long time. <br />
<br />
<br />
If you hadn't already worked it out, this is one of my favourite shows. I watched the whole of the last series and I loved it so when this series started I knew I was going to be watching every episode. Although I don't really watch because I'm THAT into baking, it has got me into baking without me really realising it. I've already made chocolate muffins, chocolate brownies and chocolate mint slices (yeah I'm a chocoholic). I guess its like Top gear in the way that a lot of people watch top gear who are not really into Cars, people can watch the Great British Bake-off who are not really into baking. Its true, I managed to convert my brother to be a fan and he knows absolutely nothing about baking. I would so recommend watching it, even if its just for the comedy moments.Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-3742817392879930492012-09-03T16:05:00.000+01:002012-09-03T19:19:34.110+01:00How to: Braided headband <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlYA5Z14Kk7Bwj8x3yFStm0ja83bxvjws_INm8c2sO7jl6zRDy7dTrcn6atJeicW_fgNWE47DaOKl-EoghxaRV_dI5acci0laTyoElIIieJjjksRW4SPJXNm864DCCi-pCr3WDcAHYMuw/s1600/braided+headband+2.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlYA5Z14Kk7Bwj8x3yFStm0ja83bxvjws_INm8c2sO7jl6zRDy7dTrcn6atJeicW_fgNWE47DaOKl-EoghxaRV_dI5acci0laTyoElIIieJjjksRW4SPJXNm864DCCi-pCr3WDcAHYMuw/s200/braided+headband+2.png" width="165" /></a>This is a cute hairstyle for those times when you want to do something interesting with your hair but still wear it down. It also gets the hair at the front of your head out your face. Its basically an adaption of a braided fringe or bangs. I've always had issues with doing a braided fringe because after you've braided as far as you want to go you always have to pull the braid round your head and pin into place. I find this quite uncomfortable to wear and it often falls out. This is a much better way to get a similar look that holds better and also looks better (in my opinion)<br />
<br />
To start with you probably want to have a centre part and nice clean hair. If you must have a different part then you can change this later but really because the braid goes across the top of the head the exact part becomes less important. Next step is to make a circular part all the way around the head. The hair left should be a thin section around the outside of the head. The hair in the middle can be tied back and then put into a quick bun to get it out the way:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
The next step is very similar to doing a crown braid (<a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/tips-and-advice-crown-braid.html" target="_blank">see this</a>) except your only using the small amount of hair that you have left around your head. I always like to start at the back. This part of the braid will not be seen at the end (because when you let your hair down it will cover it) so if its messy it doesn't matter. The braid you want to do is a lace braid i.e. a french braid where hair is ONLY added into the bottom strand. You can also do a dutch lace braid if you want (see <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzmpOIT3Bco&feature=plcp" target="_blank">this video</a> if you don't know the difference). So start at the back of the head and work your way round to the front. This is where you need to start braiding more carefully as this is the bit that will show in the finished style. Take smaller sections and pull each strand tight. Make sure you pull the braid back so it lies as far back as possible. Carry on braiding round the head until you get back to where you started and all hair is added in.<br />

Carry on braiding down the rest of the strand as far as you can go and secure the end of the braid with a hair elastic. Take the strand and wind it around the head following the path of the braid and pin into place where ever the end reaches. If the end reaches round to the front you have to be careful pinning it into place so the end is not visible and the pins does not stick out. Then you just have to pull out the bun and let your hair down so it covers most of the braid except what you can see at the front and thats it!<br />

The finished result basically looks like you have just braided your fringe however its much more secure and I think it also looks better. Also you have the option of leaving your hair in a ponytail so the whole of the braid is visible. This is also the point you can change your part if you want, I find the centre part works best though. This method is similar to the hairstyle done on<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZJaJ4Xp5dM&feature=plcp" target="_blank"> this video</a>. It definitely worth a watch if your having trouble parting your hair right or need more help on how to do the braid.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb9D_fUwQVJzUCVGsbvH4btSSDVuE88qWndWfe9p6z4uc4SQsEJ6EdikS7UEyU5AYFCyiugwa4lopinty1iRkV3JwjWBcCEVuMWthYSlW-34-jn67r1elNfZE8LkB_0jdnij-G2hoUuB0/s1600/leeds+fest.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb9D_fUwQVJzUCVGsbvH4btSSDVuE88qWndWfe9p6z4uc4SQsEJ6EdikS7UEyU5AYFCyiugwa4lopinty1iRkV3JwjWBcCEVuMWthYSlW-34-jn67r1elNfZE8LkB_0jdnij-G2hoUuB0/s1600/leeds+fest.png" /></a></div>
For the first day or two I found my hair was fine to be left down and lose and usual. However by day three my hair began to feel a little bit greasy and even with some dry shampoo it felt unclean and nasty. I found that braiding hair is a good way to have hair out the way but still look nice. There is an added bonus when you are at a festival that you can pretty much braid as badly and messily as you want and it will still look alright. Any sort of braided style will work but you will probably want to keep the braid simple so it requires only a few hair elastics and hair pins making it easier to do when your sat in a tent with only a small hand mirror. Here are some <b>braided</b> suggestions:<br />

Its also nice to add in an extra flower clip or something to give the style an added festival vibe. I have guides to how to do some of these styles, otherwise I will link helpful youtube videos for you to watch. All of these are very easy though!<br />
Another good thing to try at festivals is headbands and headscarves. Not only do they hide your greasy hair but they look cute and quite boho:<br />

When you get fed up of having to braid your hair every morning or if your hair become just to horrible to leave down there are a few things you can do. Obviously whack out the dry shampoo (if its really bad - <a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/the-truth-about-dry-shampoo.html" target="_blank">my opinions on dry shampoo</a>) but also tie it back to get it out of the way. Here are a few things to try:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhyphenhyphen-scp5zSgI1mJMDibK6iQz2Gbt_31WG2Sj25_nZVmEDICiN5jWRAZVuj-oGsYLFJWkd0qTq6peCw7VDScu6QUafzaUBENMc4xRSuCmbImegoMgcjy9k0vM2uMVlEED_T4biqJgTVNSg/s1600/high+pony.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhyphenhyphen-scp5zSgI1mJMDibK6iQz2Gbt_31WG2Sj25_nZVmEDICiN5jWRAZVuj-oGsYLFJWkd0qTq6peCw7VDScu6QUafzaUBENMc4xRSuCmbImegoMgcjy9k0vM2uMVlEED_T4biqJgTVNSg/s320/high+pony.png" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">High Pony-tail (simple but effective)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh95DN1E0Shuuu88xJpHY00IT10yA2Ve_mAYmIPITSJ_Vg0CVPQpwq7_rG1dms5rA_co298uCrKo7d0WsbuCFkIAcxFg0koI-h-sBBiZqE06e2Bw4iR9o-v4Gcjq0CRdG4g7UKKiqSLDoE/s1600/messy+bun.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh95DN1E0Shuuu88xJpHY00IT10yA2Ve_mAYmIPITSJ_Vg0CVPQpwq7_rG1dms5rA_co298uCrKo7d0WsbuCFkIAcxFg0koI-h-sBBiZqE06e2Bw4iR9o-v4Gcjq0CRdG4g7UKKiqSLDoE/s1600/messy+bun.png" /></a></td></tr>

</tbody></table>
Anyway, the most important thing to remember is that everyone's hair is horrible and you can pretty much do whatever you like and no-one will care!! Its the best! <br />

It has always been one of those things I've never really seen the need for in every day life. Like if I forgot to wash my hair the night before and its slightly greasy I will just quickly wash it the next morning. However, last weekend I went to my first ever music festival (Leeds fest Woop Woop). Anyway so, obviously at festivals there is noway to keep clean or wash hair so I thought I'd try out dry shampoo to keep my hair from looking completely rank for 5 days.<br />
I bought the generic Batiste original dry shampoo (the green one) with me to try out.<br />

I'd always assumed from the name that dry shampoo was like shampoo but without the need of water to wash it out. However, it is actually much more like Talcum powder in a can.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
When you spray it, it covers your hair in a fine mist of white powder which I guess absorbs the grease n stuff from your hair. The next stage is to rub in the powder so it is no longer visible. This is where there is a problem. It is not easy to stop the powder from being visible in your hair. In the end, I found that you end up with slightly faded roots which become greyish in colour so you sort of look like your going grey. Also if you spray too much some of it will fall out your hair and you will be covered in little white flakes The bottle claims it will "boost body" but don't believe this. What is claims is added volume is actually just excessively frizzy hair. However, although it replaces greasy hair with frizz, it does banish oily roots and depending how greasy your hair was to start with, this is usually a slight improvement.<br />

These pictures show how much you have to rub it in to avoid looking like you've been in a snow storm or something. Also as you can see, this dry shampoo does significantly change the colour of my hair at the roots. It seems to sap the colour away making the roots look very faded and dry. In some reviews I've read people have said it is particularly bad on darker hair but these photos show how it isn't exactly good for paler hair either. <br />
<br />
Overall, using a dry shampoo provides a slight improvement on greasy hair, but unless you are going somewhere where you can't wash your hair then I really can not see why anyone would want to use it. Maybe the colored versions are better, but then so is actually washing your hair.<br />
<br />
<br />
Festival world yes, real world not really.<br />

So I was watching this weekend's matches closely for any new season haircuts. There was only one that stood on it particular to me. That was QPR Goalkeeper Rob Green.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibOoGTJMppQKtfRNfyNjoO5jOcUixepcX1xjjiYwur6gZZ0tsd_ACQCr8PSGWncTg2la6FPKqhrlSCm3FjyEK2BxMCrwkGvqpnIzGsgCovnQrHHeXIxRYhzJXXQ8kKOC5KPy-HQH9wJAo/s1600/green.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibOoGTJMppQKtfRNfyNjoO5jOcUixepcX1xjjiYwur6gZZ0tsd_ACQCr8PSGWncTg2la6FPKqhrlSCm3FjyEK2BxMCrwkGvqpnIzGsgCovnQrHHeXIxRYhzJXXQ8kKOC5KPy-HQH9wJAo/s1600/green.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Perhaps not strictly a new style as I believe he was already trying out the "saved sides long in the middle" look towards the end of last season but not quite as extreme as I noticed here. The sides of his head have been shaved very short much shorter than before and the hair at the top seems slightly shorter as well. It was a shock when I saw him because he looks really quite different. The shaved sides make his face seem less round somehow. In his first game QPR lost 5-0 to Swansea which is never the start a goalkeeper wants to make at a new club, we can't blame the hair though, I rather like it. I'm hoping QPR will improve once they get Joey Barton back from his suspension. Gotta love Joey. <br />
<br />
If anyone has noticed any new haircuts on footballers please let me know, I'm always on the lookout!<br />
At some point I'm going to do a review of this seasons teams kits as well so that will be coming up at some point. :)Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-87751795062727915422012-08-19T19:54:00.000+01:002012-08-19T19:54:26.047+01:00Tulisa: Blonde vs BrownSo Tulisa from Ndubz has in the last few years become all famous due to her becoming a judge on the x factor. She was also voted the "worlds sexist women" for whatever reason. More importantly she has recently dyed her hair blonde in contrast to her previous dark brown hair. Which is better, well lets see.<br />
<br />
<b>Brown Hair</b><br />
These picture below show Tulisa with brown hair. The first is a lighter brown and the second is a much darker brown. I assume naturally her hair is a sort of medium brown. Personally I prefer the paler more caramel brown shades she sometimes has as these seems to go better with the fake tanned skin.<br />

<br />
The shade she has chosen, basically, is just too light and contrasts terribly with her tanned skin. It doesn't seem to suit her face at all, its like she wearing a really ugly wig. Does she really think it looks good?! She would look better with a darker less platinum blonde so the reason she chose this particular shade confuses me. The only reason I can think is she fell down the trap of wanting to go as blonde as possible without considering what shade she can actually pull off. (Its not this one)<br />
<br />
<b>The verdict</b> is: Tulisa please dye your hair back brown!Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-714292932053891702012-08-03T11:28:00.000+01:002012-08-03T11:28:15.476+01:00Olympics: Day 5&6 selectionThe Olympics have been going on for a while now and I have become addicted as usual. Obviously the best moment for me was seeing Bradley Wiggins win gold as he is just the<b> coolest </b>person. The other highlight of the games for British viewers has to be the Ian Thorpe commentary in the studios and his hilarious pairing with Gary Lineker and Clare Balding. I love it - nice to have some comedy in between events. Anyway, I haven't had chance to post about any hairstyles I have spotted until now but yeah, so here a selection of hairstyles spotted by me from days 5&6. As you will see they are all from Women's gymnastics and Athletics.<br />
<br />
1.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSR7w9xSCUhQbsruI0pPirQ45KcbtoJd2vGsxJ6mHsY6hiNuxxpV-eei2tSCSdQPAK47_LJ1FqE5P0CHsgVZuKsyWRfo20MgeFbn7nzxzLt13qB9DL2mDEdUNFrrpUCyO5h-0_1Xz-wTY/s1600/og+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSR7w9xSCUhQbsruI0pPirQ45KcbtoJd2vGsxJ6mHsY6hiNuxxpV-eei2tSCSdQPAK47_LJ1FqE5P0CHsgVZuKsyWRfo20MgeFbn7nzxzLt13qB9DL2mDEdUNFrrpUCyO5h-0_1Xz-wTY/s320/og+1.png" width="229" /></a></div>
So this gymnastic has what looks like small braids going back into a bun. The interesting part though is the fact she has some how coloured each section. It was really hard to see how she coloured them but i thought it was really fun and interesting.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
2.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk9XOphYcPOGZm4vUKThvhlVwcBKrZfQjTth3b30XKU-j9mMBFQ5sOpDdGYoDAaB0SUg_cmrsH936GIhQdG72Igyde0YLr4kLtwtI52SBx1wCb5b7tdthP76dDX_AebMcr6gJXM0fgpps/s1600/og+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk9XOphYcPOGZm4vUKThvhlVwcBKrZfQjTth3b30XKU-j9mMBFQ5sOpDdGYoDAaB0SUg_cmrsH936GIhQdG72Igyde0YLr4kLtwtI52SBx1wCb5b7tdthP76dDX_AebMcr6gJXM0fgpps/s320/og+3.png" width="304" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
*sigh* So many gymnastics seem to have their hair like these. And by this I mean wearing more hair clips than they have space on their head. Yes a few clips is fine but there is no need to wear about 20 clips. I spotted excessive hair slides on so many other gymnastics. Its popular.</div>
<br />
3.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkwVlDlZXnlHS4hGvMHACEF4PEUUD1zkEKda6F29wWXNhu72z76P3Hnv6J0S9fKH2kNPqKwmaleOqKzJvqMZ2ePB_W-T9RLl26SmxooW9T73Ng7HmeL8hfLdT1pbf5D38t87AtEsaZufI/s1600/og+4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkwVlDlZXnlHS4hGvMHACEF4PEUUD1zkEKda6F29wWXNhu72z76P3Hnv6J0S9fKH2kNPqKwmaleOqKzJvqMZ2ePB_W-T9RLl26SmxooW9T73Ng7HmeL8hfLdT1pbf5D38t87AtEsaZufI/s320/og+4.png" width="228" /></a></div>
This is interesting. It looks like the hair is taken in sections from the front and then twisted back and pinned to the head. It seems a complex way to wear your hair for a sport event but whatever works for her. She has also dyed her hair platinum blonde which looks alright actually but the way she has section her hair makes her roots show quite obviously.<br />
<br />
4. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIoivpBiENVugGsgC8v5OGs3hsOgRM9Ht4uOD_ZjhEw2kEFE89sElBAKvq1I1wS0slp4XzsebD0-vquajhgovtXFdVx3lu1XEWg4BM_59NdbXzHSFKk6aSPGdCFyJ7EEOmgLj5YkUfWRI/s1600/og+5.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIoivpBiENVugGsgC8v5OGs3hsOgRM9Ht4uOD_ZjhEw2kEFE89sElBAKvq1I1wS0slp4XzsebD0-vquajhgovtXFdVx3lu1XEWg4BM_59NdbXzHSFKk6aSPGdCFyJ7EEOmgLj5YkUfWRI/s1600/og+5.png" /></a></div>
This one I really liked. She has also taken her hair in sections at the front but she has braided hers instead of just twisting them. I think it looks a bit more tidy than the twisted version and is a nice touch to a otherwise plain ponytail. I like the thought that these top athletes have time before competing in a major event to do their hair in a style like this.<br />
<br />
<br />
Will try to post some more hairstyles soon. I'm enjoying the games so much I just haven't got round to posting...!!! <br />

It did go on for aaaages but I watched all 4 hours of it. Aside from the hairstyles, my favorite part was the digital age scene because of the amazing music
and hilarious 'lost phone' subplot. It was also amazing that they got
the arctic monkey to play. There were many many great haircuts but I have chosen just one that really stood out:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH-il8nMECBjG9Ee8O4talDQVhmLwuRrEf3A4xdHWAPD-sQx8fPxMG54gaXYs2ERDyzaq66iATYKB6btnz2hFHBJTfy0gIGt42gi1pBXRHyavBRLz4mKXUr_anqgv14ID6BfU_ddXOd-c/s1600/oc1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH-il8nMECBjG9Ee8O4talDQVhmLwuRrEf3A4xdHWAPD-sQx8fPxMG54gaXYs2ERDyzaq66iATYKB6btnz2hFHBJTfy0gIGt42gi1pBXRHyavBRLz4mKXUr_anqgv14ID6BfU_ddXOd-c/s320/oc1.png" width="261" /></a></div>
This is the flag bearer for Israel. As you can see he has shaved the side of his head into the design of the Israeli flag. How amazing..! <br />I'll be watching most of the Olympics so hopefully will do some more Olympic posts soon. :)<br />

I've been following the progress of Bradley Wiggins and team Sky from the beginning. Its been absolutely amazing and I have loved watching every minute. Today was the last stage in Paris and the most exciting finish with Mark Cavendish sprinting to the win and Wiggins taking the GC. Wow! Amazing achievement from Wiggins and team Sky (all of whom I have also fallen in love with). <br />

<br />
I was going to make this post right at the start of the tour in order to mock his awful sideburns, but I decided to wait until later and in the end I thought it would be best to talk about his sideburns once he won. Over the last 3 weeks Wiggins sideburns have been making many
headlines. He has been
given many different nicknames. I've heard him being called 'the banana
with sideburns', Mr sideburns and also Coronal Sideburns. Sideburns has become his thing.These<b> <a href="http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m79h7hI6Jr1qacyk6o1_500.jpg" target="_blank">Wiggins masks</a></b> have also been spotted on the tour. How amazing..! While sideburns isn't really a good look, I am now completely in love with them.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
I never thought I would be saying this at the start of the tour. but I would<u> love </u>sideburns to become a trend now. Not because I think they are a good look (they're not) but because it would mean that people have been inspired by Wiggins and shows how great his impact has been.<br />
<br />
Aside from Team Sky, I have enjoyed watching the slightly random but entertaining Peter Sagan celebrations, watching the competition for King of the mountain because polka dots are awesome (especially Voeckler's polka dot bike), Tejay Van Garderen riding in the white jersey (surprise surprise I love him as well) and the beautiful French countryside!!!<br />
<br />
I noted during the tour that cyclists tend to have pretty boring hair. There is a classic cyclist cut of pretty much short all over so I don't have many specific haircuts to comment on. <a href="http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/photos/races12/tdf12/tdf12st09gc-eisel.jpg" target="_blank">Bernie Eisel </a>had the best hair that I saw. Its short like everyone else but he has enough length to style it a bit at the front. <br />
<br />
I don't know what I'm going to do with my time now the Tour is over. Oh well, the Olympics is coming up soon and I will be glued to the TV watching. Expect many articles by me about the haircuts and styles I observe. :)<br />

This time I decided to do a Mayonnaise hair mask. I'd heard good things about Mayonnaise hair masks. Mayonnaise contains eggs and oils and stuff so the effects are meant to be similar to <a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/hair-treatment-reviews-egg-hair-mask.html" style="color: black;" target="_blank">egg hair masks</a>: it is supposed to strengthen hair and make it shinier and less frizzy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1iiJZx1jzLgnNkVJHbCxOl2cIX3om038TPic2MkHmtzRc17V8XzArXSA8CHn77gtebgKRPCXExyYdWS7m-ZDT4x6UD4lgjMu62ICfQTq4iBjqXTZJbmphorNXoUaajCbZstbCoT_Cjv4/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1iiJZx1jzLgnNkVJHbCxOl2cIX3om038TPic2MkHmtzRc17V8XzArXSA8CHn77gtebgKRPCXExyYdWS7m-ZDT4x6UD4lgjMu62ICfQTq4iBjqXTZJbmphorNXoUaajCbZstbCoT_Cjv4/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
In my hair mask I decided to put mayonnaise and honey. From what I've read you can add many different things into your mayonnaise such as avocado or banana or olive oil. I decided on honey because I've used it many times before and I had a lot left to use up. I mixed 2 spoons of Mayonnaise with 1 spoon of honey. This resulted in a slightly yellowy mixture with about the same consistency as hair conditioner. It didn't smell great though.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcYBZ6sH-flk6oHmgmzfpBuxCJCpW6ydX3uDZxjt63YwT-MhN8FfXR71Q8Rnab-C2zAw4IULADDDsrBzFNQ56xs4jUVNslpjptW4A_cSAgBLIPICybJF_VOapcfaFAYkV2ChuykWw7vRU/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcYBZ6sH-flk6oHmgmzfpBuxCJCpW6ydX3uDZxjt63YwT-MhN8FfXR71Q8Rnab-C2zAw4IULADDDsrBzFNQ56xs4jUVNslpjptW4A_cSAgBLIPICybJF_VOapcfaFAYkV2ChuykWw7vRU/s320/005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This mixture was really easy to apply. It was thick enough to scoop it up with my hands and apply to my hair in the same way you would with a hair conditioner. This was the best thing about this treatment. So many other treatments I've done have been really messy. They have been much thinner so I've had to pour them over my head resulting in them dripping everywhere. This one is really great.<br />So I did the same method as with my <b><a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/hair-treatment-reviews-egg-hair-mask.html" style="color: black;" target="_blank">egg hair mask</a></b>. Dampened my hair, applied the mask covered it with a plastic wrap and left it for about an hour before washing off. The effect was pretty much the same as the egg hair mask. I preferred this one though, only due to the fact it is much easier to apply. <br /><br />
Here is a<a href="http://hellogiggles.com/mayonnaise-hair-mask-for-moisture-shine-and-growth" target="_blank"> <b><span style="color: black;">good post</span></b></a> about Mayonnaise hair masks!Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-39068344237509073262012-07-18T11:43:00.002+01:002012-07-18T11:44:24.718+01:00The Bachelor: The Hairstyles!The bachelor combines two of my favourite things: Made in Chelsea and trashy reality TV shows. It stars Spencer Matthews from Made in Chelsea as "the Bachelor" who is trying to find his perfect women. Each week he eliminaes a candidate during the "rose ceremony" and the show will continue until only one is left and Spencer has found his soulmate. From Last Friday's episode here is my analysis of the hairstyles worn in the Rose Ceremony. (I have already talked about Spencer's hair in my <b><a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/made-in-chelsea-boys.html" style="color: black;" target="_blank">Made in Chelsea part 2</a></b> post)<br />
<br />
<b>1. Chloe</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPLiS36wvix2SbprTPWQ8vOLNsrxxL5w-B_PwEu6qZz7N1f4BSBb5YSMeQkxXTddYw2AOPDq4an2GHMipmlbHwNoe2mDNxQenbpIlyuPSCkEdSYjsyC2F7e8P204_7mh_og5FI0-fnTJM/s1600/bach+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPLiS36wvix2SbprTPWQ8vOLNsrxxL5w-B_PwEu6qZz7N1f4BSBb5YSMeQkxXTddYw2AOPDq4an2GHMipmlbHwNoe2mDNxQenbpIlyuPSCkEdSYjsyC2F7e8P204_7mh_og5FI0-fnTJM/s1600/bach+1.png" /></a></div>
I do not like Chloe, since the beginning I have found her annoying. Her hair is nice here though, it is curled into messy waves which looks quite good on her. <br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
2. Danielle<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5YuZvW_smLpzQ0v9IhSaGwJyWpnO2HJS_SyHJqIvvf7z6IOyaGvRCzLoPbW-V0IXzsaPGSIk0roVoEpLErUHl8gX7_urb17AuKz3z7_S60hg6HLBxFVRpN9ZN4MDIMWvsnzr46g3wPfU/s1600/bach+2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5YuZvW_smLpzQ0v9IhSaGwJyWpnO2HJS_SyHJqIvvf7z6IOyaGvRCzLoPbW-V0IXzsaPGSIk0roVoEpLErUHl8gX7_urb17AuKz3z7_S60hg6HLBxFVRpN9ZN4MDIMWvsnzr46g3wPfU/s1600/bach+2.png" /></a></div>
Danielle was fun in the episode, I don't remember noticing her before really. She was picked along with two others by Spencer to go on a hike to a log cabin. Here hike used very loosely because It looked like all they did was walk across one field. She has a sort of messy chic hairstyle here. I like the deep side part on her as well.<br />
<br />
<b>3. Brandy</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj3ePEOs5nCcJz3cnwa3WO5sxDfZ150n8b-LDIMXPxrcdG0s8cn_ThhE46pHUFoHyPw7pdWYM-2KI4MMWrO4MVlugaUC9c-vGwgwuuSaqG22YF32uv1lZxZVwBq8UXG6KitmI5AeWVCKk/s1600/bach+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj3ePEOs5nCcJz3cnwa3WO5sxDfZ150n8b-LDIMXPxrcdG0s8cn_ThhE46pHUFoHyPw7pdWYM-2KI4MMWrO4MVlugaUC9c-vGwgwuuSaqG22YF32uv1lZxZVwBq8UXG6KitmI5AeWVCKk/s320/bach+3.png" width="295" /></a></div>
Brandy is one I am yet to decide if I like or not. On one hand she has a ridiculous name which really annoys me, but on the other she does seem quite fun and generally seems to speak her mind more than some of the others. I did not like the hairstyle she wore to the rose ceremony (shown above). Here hair is in a slicked back ponyail. Now I don't really like these ponytail where the hair is pulled back so much it must feel like its pulled your head off because it makes everyone's forehead look massive and shows of the shape of the head a little too much. I think Brandy would look a lot better with some volume in her ponytail instead. She could 'poof' up the front or just back comb all over the get lots of added height. <br />
<br />
<b>4. Renay</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4vFDF3dgBVfwmcndzPIE2tB6jhpccwy0qsGRrF0e9BBUyE0mMvpIwjQMCoMPGt2JokF77UkQmeg-PAUEMUGB1vVoLTSh0pYWsvODitFliymlwbyzGJwPPquZiy6V-dlK6JHPpNc8YlO4/s1600/bach+9.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4vFDF3dgBVfwmcndzPIE2tB6jhpccwy0qsGRrF0e9BBUyE0mMvpIwjQMCoMPGt2JokF77UkQmeg-PAUEMUGB1vVoLTSh0pYWsvODitFliymlwbyzGJwPPquZiy6V-dlK6JHPpNc8YlO4/s320/bach+9.png" width="320" /></a></div>
This hairstyle was interesting and quite cute. Firstly she has backcombed her hair at the top of the head to create some height. Then she has made a ponytail at the side of her head and looped some hair around it to hide the hairtie. The red of the hair is fishtailed and worn over her side. The only weird thing is the position of the ponytail. It might be a bit too high because it makes her hair sort of stick out from the side of her head a bit... But its fine really.<br />
<br />
<b>5. Marissa</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbv48YTkAdoOpRxMhlvYB-VT-114eG0O0XKCyqpxjmhmfO-x7YUWnjYFy8LOr8qP43KCs7pC6k3KkDngCxV3Ucw_0_BUdR-waID_HBm3ZZfjJIbigoiujknUBWEK-015DWrP4S9Rm4byo/s1600/bach+4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbv48YTkAdoOpRxMhlvYB-VT-114eG0O0XKCyqpxjmhmfO-x7YUWnjYFy8LOr8qP43KCs7pC6k3KkDngCxV3Ucw_0_BUdR-waID_HBm3ZZfjJIbigoiujknUBWEK-015DWrP4S9Rm4byo/s320/bach+4.png" width="280" /></a></div>
Marissa is a bit crazy. She is always saying ridiculous things and being loud and in Spencer's own words "She has no off switch".. She's one who Spencer is obviously never going to chose but it kept in because she makes good TV. Despite her personality being mental, it is not reflected in her hair. It is sleek and shiny and kept lose I can't really work out if she has a fringe or just random fringe-like wispy bits at the top of her head.<br />
<br />
<b>6. Jess</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqE9W2mPUYfOMRl0aFrXT4D9GGF_hqU50vzFF47XW5UPnVQsWtsWjB4j6kh6US7Krs8Gcjnr5L-UkhGSv9hLcHK9NF4LHpBkv3fcaOcnk9kKVQO1eNMartC0UHzzdSryCTY1rCtR-Nnlw/s1600/bach+12.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqE9W2mPUYfOMRl0aFrXT4D9GGF_hqU50vzFF47XW5UPnVQsWtsWjB4j6kh6US7Krs8Gcjnr5L-UkhGSv9hLcHK9NF4LHpBkv3fcaOcnk9kKVQO1eNMartC0UHzzdSryCTY1rCtR-Nnlw/s1600/bach+12.png" /></a></div>
Jess didn't really feature in the Rose Ceremony. This is literally the only time she appeared so I couldn't really see what she had done with her hair. It looks like it is left down and wavy. I can't really remember much about Jess generally so I don't know if her hair is curly naturally or not. I will obviously have to pay better attention to her in the next episodes.<br />
<br />
<b>7. Khloe</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBPS6V33MHX7KThXycf9zG0SuuzH7pLShOVKo4R8jMyBfkdrz4GptxENLNgIEK8vbkkYaFTQE0MgUK2YDrObq-fCkqO8oODkjgOqAyRdhPa2DKg1-v7DqpuYR4JLZ_gKwQUYtiROWsQfo/s1600/bach+10.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBPS6V33MHX7KThXycf9zG0SuuzH7pLShOVKo4R8jMyBfkdrz4GptxENLNgIEK8vbkkYaFTQE0MgUK2YDrObq-fCkqO8oODkjgOqAyRdhPa2DKg1-v7DqpuYR4JLZ_gKwQUYtiROWsQfo/s320/bach+10.png" width="296" /></a></div>
I always get confused between Khloe and Brandy because they both have really blonde hair, similar facial shape and similar personalities. Also they both have silly names. Khloe is really orange though which makes me dislike her.<br />
<br />
<b>8.Aisha</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioWCqyurjHoX56hNLqKnPfgxKZKXZweoxFd472Coc2LJE2UiCPUGWC5phHQV3_cO7IRNS4iMnrVJYaSEjmW5TQMRFX8CXCWSfXpoQVqsEeAo8SDQ5h5Dvk84I4uPniDRRsEjjgD6LCLuQ/s1600/bach+11.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioWCqyurjHoX56hNLqKnPfgxKZKXZweoxFd472Coc2LJE2UiCPUGWC5phHQV3_cO7IRNS4iMnrVJYaSEjmW5TQMRFX8CXCWSfXpoQVqsEeAo8SDQ5h5Dvk84I4uPniDRRsEjjgD6LCLuQ/s320/bach+11.png" width="305" /></a></div>
Aisha has not really done anything interesting yet. She seems to be a bit boring. Her hair is boring as well, it is worn in a side parting and then left lose. Its not bad... its just not that interesting. Hopefully in the next few episodes we will see more of her personality. <br />
<br />
<b>9. Tabby</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivNaKIHPsxHvooOOdevO4SUIZGSulCwMWbXgzEHXVH3psoua2bv8QRCp4wWcg9wPHwxvhWDQuRvYqR5rgwlDkaPdbXeVTCVypEviZAYzhgYG9GXpPXyl51w4id9wWH7kOEMYBs9r3PeyI/s1600/bach+5.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivNaKIHPsxHvooOOdevO4SUIZGSulCwMWbXgzEHXVH3psoua2bv8QRCp4wWcg9wPHwxvhWDQuRvYqR5rgwlDkaPdbXeVTCVypEviZAYzhgYG9GXpPXyl51w4id9wWH7kOEMYBs9r3PeyI/s400/bach+5.png" width="400" /></a></div>
Tabby was so annoying in this episode. Two groups of the girls had to face off in a rafting race along a river. Tabby basically got really whiney and refused to keep rowing causing her team to lose. I don't get why she seems to be one of Spencer's favourites. She acted really weird in the rose ceremony though like she didn't even want to 'accept the rose' and stay in the competition. She had here hair is a messy bun/chignon type thing with the head at the front left loose. Her hair is dyed blonde, but the shade I find a little bit too yellow. She gets really ugly looking roots.<br />
<br />
<b>10. Helen</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggP65Ge8rtossnVZ-2OwayhEv1Y97fHmeKyGTRbeO9_zYT_sEItpnklQ9zR98bx4aFgBwD-YeA01yXviXOqFCWzo1zOKrxaAF56Tjgd-cDQZs2Q2O4JhWj8uW3s4nxPqaXN-YOMuNt30M/s1600/bach+7.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggP65Ge8rtossnVZ-2OwayhEv1Y97fHmeKyGTRbeO9_zYT_sEItpnklQ9zR98bx4aFgBwD-YeA01yXviXOqFCWzo1zOKrxaAF56Tjgd-cDQZs2Q2O4JhWj8uW3s4nxPqaXN-YOMuNt30M/s1600/bach+7.png" /></a></div>
<div class="r">
I like Helen, she seems down to earth and quite normal compared to the other girls. Also she looks like she could be a hair model for L'Oréal or something. Her hair was so nice and glossy in the final ceremony.</div>
<div class="r" style="color: black;">
<br /></div>
<div class="r" style="color: black;">
<b>11. Natalia</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTSUjn7gXjIDIsgVTGvITK2QAUkoksMDz3V3ypJOkaojf_bk57oueyrO2Xzp4xsaZnRurYypZNgznLqq684XFjAf5M_naR96nl5KITVzrTpXTMGY6fHOW2ErGf7GvwzQLr2Od2Wy2R64c/s1600/bach+6.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="216" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTSUjn7gXjIDIsgVTGvITK2QAUkoksMDz3V3ypJOkaojf_bk57oueyrO2Xzp4xsaZnRurYypZNgznLqq684XFjAf5M_naR96nl5KITVzrTpXTMGY6fHOW2ErGf7GvwzQLr2Od2Wy2R64c/s320/bach+6.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="r">
This was another cute hairstyle. She wears a half-up bun possibly using a hair doughnut because the bun is quite big. She adds glamour to he look by wears a silver headband across the top of her head. </div>
<div class="r" style="color: black;">
<br /></div>
<div class="r">
<b>12. Jeneva</b></div>
<div class="r">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3HeBtJ8wZ9V3dGWRmtdiYODhFNxnVJ5RQhiUEZFgsQ6Zu7AOR8-BJ4tu-zqmR15HgXAS_eNAoqRRbpjq9syaRw0KIlicLlFgpTyKbufdIsA2TJdx2ZbtUUBM20_BhVQspjLg5YbZd6pM/s1600/bach+8.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3HeBtJ8wZ9V3dGWRmtdiYODhFNxnVJ5RQhiUEZFgsQ6Zu7AOR8-BJ4tu-zqmR15HgXAS_eNAoqRRbpjq9syaRw0KIlicLlFgpTyKbufdIsA2TJdx2ZbtUUBM20_BhVQspjLg5YbZd6pM/s320/bach+8.png" width="297" /></a></div>
<div class="r" style="color: black;">
It was not surprising that Jeneva was eliminated. Early in the show her and Spencer had the most awkward conversation. Her head was worn in a kinda cool side bun which you can just see in the picture above.</div>
<div class="r" style="color: black;">
<br />
<b>Overall</b><br />
I seriously doubt any of these girls are going to be spencer's soul-mate. Considering none of the them are like Caggie or Louise (Spencer's main love interests on made in Chelsea). That's not really the point of this show though. We all know, no matter how many times Spencer says that he is looking for a relationship, that he's not and he is just doing the show for more fame and money and after the show he will probably go back to dating Louise. That's fine with us though. We only watch for the entertainment value. </div>

</div>
This post is about an article I read titled <a href="http://www.refinery29.com/best-hair-trends" target="_blank">'<b><span style="color: black;">7 Hair Trends to try before you die</span></b>'</a>. I was interested to find out how many I had tried myself. As it turns out not very many. I slightly disagreed with the inclusion of some of the trends, here is my take on the styles!<br />
<br />
<b>1. Bangs (a fringe)</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW1coWghjwCBrSG4dIe1O_w7oEI7XiVHzdMysblDGPNr1odvyAc7NQ8QF28nXnD80kznSq-Kkz43QTGVTtaWHyyK2G5fJ6IIOxP_gDHj5lHeME3iGk4CDwqu3yvTn87Ju5s_to9xRD1_o/s1600/7+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW1coWghjwCBrSG4dIe1O_w7oEI7XiVHzdMysblDGPNr1odvyAc7NQ8QF28nXnD80kznSq-Kkz43QTGVTtaWHyyK2G5fJ6IIOxP_gDHj5lHeME3iGk4CDwqu3yvTn87Ju5s_to9xRD1_o/s1600/7+1.png" /></a></div>
Technically, this is one I can tick of as I had a fringe when I was about 5 years old. Since then I have not had a fringe again, however I am definitely considering having a side fringe put in sometime soon. I've always hated having the hair at the front of my head in my face so a fringe might be a good solution to this...<br />
I agree with one, I think everyone should at least try
out having a fringe at some point. Full fringes don't suit everyone but
side fringes seem to suit most face types. The photo is of Haley from One Tree Hill. Its the episode from season 4 where they all go the the Honey Grove prom. I really loved this fringe on her. <br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<b>2. A bob</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMOc55vnrpzrVpa2aElyZii7AZYO6ENqZXrSuXqV7KJHMTe6WZ2pEQlZWcccJFOfAiiyDSBitwlG-DUfRb_cuzro6vf27_nz60th3vSz_iMTR_JOdwGrpDfwwC8C39c0ccqrmgxtbGoMI/s1600/7+2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMOc55vnrpzrVpa2aElyZii7AZYO6ENqZXrSuXqV7KJHMTe6WZ2pEQlZWcccJFOfAiiyDSBitwlG-DUfRb_cuzro6vf27_nz60th3vSz_iMTR_JOdwGrpDfwwC8C39c0ccqrmgxtbGoMI/s1600/7+2.png" /></a></div>
I have never had a bob, its something that I would like to try though. I've always loved 20s style and the bob was the cut that all the rebellious women in the 20s got. However I like having long hair so I imagine after the novelty of having short hair has worn off it would be frustrating as I would have to wait ages until I could braid my hair again. The photo is Caroline from the vampire diaries in the episode where they host a 20s theme ball. I like bobs when the hair is kept slightly wavy like this.<br />
<br />
<b>3. Red Hair</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhedy0jsBM0KxdZqaOskaJMQ3dW6nbxHd7U01XznndILrqogN80FqcCDoljxQ2GmLki1cJKgwC5b_m7bKbV_4zOXgUt1XjAw11jEFIek8lMnkbbjfrQxXUSkA-L7cp0Heje6IymHlCAUsM/s1600/7+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhedy0jsBM0KxdZqaOskaJMQ3dW6nbxHd7U01XznndILrqogN80FqcCDoljxQ2GmLki1cJKgwC5b_m7bKbV_4zOXgUt1XjAw11jEFIek8lMnkbbjfrQxXUSkA-L7cp0Heje6IymHlCAUsM/s1600/7+3.png" /></a></div>
Again, I've never had red hair, however I'm pretty confident in saying this is one I'm never going to do. I have nothing against red hair, I really like natural red hair in fact like on <a href="http://jhairreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/nicola-roberts-hairstyles.html" style="color: black;" target="_blank">Nicola from Girls Aloud</a>. However, dyed red hair never seems to look as good. So many people go for that fake icky red tone which is shown in the photo above of Cheryl Cole. Also I disagree that everyone should try red hair, I think maybe everyone should try going a different colour to their own natural hair colour, but I don't think it has to be necessary red. <br />
<br />
<b>4. Pixie Cut</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ecIbhqaBbHOxd5iOfK4R-UQ44tLhvFyp0oGqnoRA2x4dhZDFGWrPCGIHHLsseVpF_67qih1TE4kKzmzAhjYRuGaJtr0kPTEa4OMTcuRQJG4BHV6zGRCo2VZcR58zcMejEUKHprHmyE0/s1600/7+4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ecIbhqaBbHOxd5iOfK4R-UQ44tLhvFyp0oGqnoRA2x4dhZDFGWrPCGIHHLsseVpF_67qih1TE4kKzmzAhjYRuGaJtr0kPTEa4OMTcuRQJG4BHV6zGRCo2VZcR58zcMejEUKHprHmyE0/s1600/7+4.png" /></a></div>
This is one I'm probably never going to do because I love long hair so much. Getting a bob would be the shortest I'd be prepared to go. I think if I ever got a pixie cut I would look like a 12 year boy. Also there is the fact that growing out a pixie is a lot more difficult than growing out any other hair cut. You get to that awful in between stage where you look like a shaggy dog. It is a really good look on some people though. The picture is of Emma Watson who finally was allowed to cut her hair after finishing the Harry Potter movies.<br />
<br />
<b>5. Extensions</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1Eoz5SLWAA1B0fat5L3GlCydsIMRTzDVmfS3wgEL8mCH88FBA0l18f8lJXVVtpGllsngbqYIIN1BXvdMOe8c4JSY-B_ATPht8NJcPKiULgD7cpMYIBStfO4mSuGOwh-p9R5Pzid5paVk/s320/sma+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1Eoz5SLWAA1B0fat5L3GlCydsIMRTzDVmfS3wgEL8mCH88FBA0l18f8lJXVVtpGllsngbqYIIN1BXvdMOe8c4JSY-B_ATPht8NJcPKiULgD7cpMYIBStfO4mSuGOwh-p9R5Pzid5paVk/s320/sma+3.png" /></a></div>
<br />
Although its called extensions I assume this one just means having really long hair. Which I have done as when I was about 10 years old my hair was about hip length.My hair is actually pretty long now as well. If it is possible then you should really grow your hair long yourself, however hair extensions are a good option for people whose hair doesn't want to grow long naturally. Hair extensions are also good if you have thin hair because they can add a lot of volume.<br />
<br />
<b>6. Streaks</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB_44y3huZ7qEK9lO6xc2YkVs7qXjw56lMpUVJHoB9YKH3-P86ATCjV1lOpfeiCtXSitjnMsQMxPrhWpB_crfbY0RLlufVESdB-eo2t3l-cHj9sAba0Q1d_LO0KGDbuVFKjsKbvxo0g0g/s1600/glee+4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB_44y3huZ7qEK9lO6xc2YkVs7qXjw56lMpUVJHoB9YKH3-P86ATCjV1lOpfeiCtXSitjnMsQMxPrhWpB_crfbY0RLlufVESdB-eo2t3l-cHj9sAba0Q1d_LO0KGDbuVFKjsKbvxo0g0g/s1600/glee+4.png" /></a></div>
As in putting crazy streaks of pinks and blues and purples into your hair. I guess this includes things like dip dying and ombre style hair as well. I'm temped to try dip dying as I've always thought that looks pretty cool. <br />
<br />
<b>7. Donate</b><br />
This was an odd one. Apparently donating your hair to charity is a big hair trend...? Obviously if you want to have a drastic haircut then go for it and donate the hair, but It's not something I would grow my hair especially for.. There are some<a href="http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/Donate/Hair.aspx" target="_blank"> <span style="color: black;">amazing charities</span></a> though that want hair donations so anyone who is interested it would be a great thing to do.<br />
<br />
<b>Overall</b><br />
So I managed 2/7. How pathetic!!! I am obviously too boring with my choice of hairstyles at the moment..!!<br />
How many of the trends have you tried? Let me know in the comments! :)Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-2946495535207241412012-07-14T21:15:00.000+01:002012-07-15T00:10:12.207+01:00Snog Marry Avoid 9/07/12Alright, so I just watched Snog, Marry Avoid. The show that takes people with atrocious fashion sense and then"makes them under" in an attempt to stop 'fakery' on the streets on Britian. Here fakery meaning fake tan, fake nails, fake hair extensions, masses of makeup, tacky jewellery and general bad fashion sense. I was literally spoiled for choice for bad hairstyles to mock so here goes!<br />
<br />
<b>Hair Extensions.</b><br />
The episode I watched had a feature on hair extensions. This episode was based in Cardiff. Apparently Cardiff is the British capital for hair extensions. Who knew. According to the show everyone in Cardiff wears them. The shows presenter Ellie, was sent on a mission to try out hair extensions. The critical POD (Personal Overhaul Device) that is responsible for the transformations, warned Ellie not to become attached to her fake hair extensions because you know, hair extensions are just so EVIL. Anyway, so this is what Ellie looked like before hand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGmAoQ12iQumz3_d2ipy0veBY6g6xs3GlAfoc-8fVzM4L7bbmdoxSHrczoCFAJHf06ddrkyPbZq6S53oxzh8P63AkB4x_Y1Nhq87ix7WwTlhosMVAjlhQfCtCL0r9XujH_w_hkytVDGsU/s1600/sma+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGmAoQ12iQumz3_d2ipy0veBY6g6xs3GlAfoc-8fVzM4L7bbmdoxSHrczoCFAJHf06ddrkyPbZq6S53oxzh8P63AkB4x_Y1Nhq87ix7WwTlhosMVAjlhQfCtCL0r9XujH_w_hkytVDGsU/s320/sma+1.png" width="252" /></a></div>
<br />
Her hair is about APL length and she has some longish layers at the front. She is wearing her hair in a deep side part and she has teased the hair at the crown as she has a lot of volume at the top of her head. I think her hair is quite nice, maybe her side parting should be less deep and slightly more central but yeah its quite nice. The next picture shows her with the hair extensions.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1Eoz5SLWAA1B0fat5L3GlCydsIMRTzDVmfS3wgEL8mCH88FBA0l18f8lJXVVtpGllsngbqYIIN1BXvdMOe8c4JSY-B_ATPht8NJcPKiULgD7cpMYIBStfO4mSuGOwh-p9R5Pzid5paVk/s1600/sma+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1Eoz5SLWAA1B0fat5L3GlCydsIMRTzDVmfS3wgEL8mCH88FBA0l18f8lJXVVtpGllsngbqYIIN1BXvdMOe8c4JSY-B_ATPht8NJcPKiULgD7cpMYIBStfO4mSuGOwh-p9R5Pzid5paVk/s320/sma+3.png" width="249" /></a></div>
So POD thought they looked awful which I thought was a bit unfair. Firstly its very hard to tell that shes wearing hair extensions because they blend well into her hair. Also, unlike most of the people on the show who had hair extensions, hers are not stupidly long. They are a good length and look quite nice really. She said that she really liked them, I suppose partly this is because of the novelty of having long hair. She did say that they hurt her head quite a bit. From reviews I have heard, hair extensions are usually quite heavy on the head and are uncomfortable after wearing them for a while. Honestly my view is that hair extensions are for people who are just too lazy to wait for their hair to grow that long naturally. I think they are good for a one off, or if you want to know how you look with long hair. But yeah, not as an everyday look. <br />
<br />
<b>Tess and Nina</b><br />
The first make under of the show was for sisters Tess and Nina who are basically twin barbie dolls (I'm not making this up, that is exactly how they described themselves). <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJREtbSiADrEjv3SUM6ooQHyL8mfihEB6ZgCL4Npy7V-QBskTptq0MpjSTIHbZH_Kdy34mv7F5RMaiKdf7bMJJBxw7e5FvHEXNI3KNtsv5WLADuX5oPvVRAe_Q-NoMQjOECeCMobYfQ1g/s1600/sma+7.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJREtbSiADrEjv3SUM6ooQHyL8mfihEB6ZgCL4Npy7V-QBskTptq0MpjSTIHbZH_Kdy34mv7F5RMaiKdf7bMJJBxw7e5FvHEXNI3KNtsv5WLADuX5oPvVRAe_Q-NoMQjOECeCMobYfQ1g/s320/sma+7.png" width="320" /></a></div>
I think probably the worst thing about their look was the large amount of ugly pink blusher they used on their cheeks.They do not look real, like they really could be made of plastic. Also if you still need convincing on the awfulness of crazy long hair extensions...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjUG6m1IStafmotrF2_TGqFJ6WnfrkYzKHZ9omx16Tz0jGHQM2j6vQWor42rzXKgYEeDGC_gx6KA7PCe9Ja9lvqgoX1yWBOtPegwl1QZ3yMl0roqMJ455j05HXMjuaw7AWFF9BUKKuG5U/s1600/sma+5.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjUG6m1IStafmotrF2_TGqFJ6WnfrkYzKHZ9omx16Tz0jGHQM2j6vQWor42rzXKgYEeDGC_gx6KA7PCe9Ja9lvqgoX1yWBOtPegwl1QZ3yMl0roqMJ455j05HXMjuaw7AWFF9BUKKuG5U/s320/sma+5.png" width="313" /></a></div>
ARGHGHG! Looks like they are wearing a MASSIVE blonde wig. That is just far too much hair..for anyone. It must be so heavy. They are made to take them out at one point on the show and the amount of extensions they have is crazy. At the ends they accumulate a whole heap of blonde hair.<br />
So then they are given the make under and they look like completely different people... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmpP12hLYCFJe5gzRCF-KKIRVVygf-FJ1wI3eNl0nqsiBApP9ijzP8-VEcIiqNL3nSOMRc1DZWkwWIm3IVId2BvZAVlX-vjnLS1ECjws7_Nl1M-pwpkbstRgStZXOmrdbOslU2A1jMfMI/s1600/sma+8.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmpP12hLYCFJe5gzRCF-KKIRVVygf-FJ1wI3eNl0nqsiBApP9ijzP8-VEcIiqNL3nSOMRc1DZWkwWIm3IVId2BvZAVlX-vjnLS1ECjws7_Nl1M-pwpkbstRgStZXOmrdbOslU2A1jMfMI/s320/sma+8.png" width="320" /></a></div>
THEY LOOK SO NORMAL!! seriously different people right. Nice fishtail braid as well on the one on the left. :)The depressing thing is, at the end of the show they re-interview them about how they found the experience and both of them have gone back to their original look. *sigh*<br />
<br />
<b>Ryan</b><br />
The second make under was on 19 year old Ryan. He had a love for fake tan, purple hair and real fur coats. I found it amusing that for the whole show POD had been going on the importance of keeping everything real and avoiding fakery but then gave Ryan a lecture about how horrible it was to wear real fur coats. Slight contradiction there..? This is Ryan before:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzkReP0lhhvzxKjkiyqMuv6eSWhL_yhxif7nRaV02jwHJUNoNjpPtR36EzE3PlJRlgvCaJ-IKLo9TGLvn_XyjvAe42sPoTmvVq2d76A5_aa_MpaIKPvw-Pj7FLj__nvKMm7TPHUuszVLs/s1600/sma+10.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzkReP0lhhvzxKjkiyqMuv6eSWhL_yhxif7nRaV02jwHJUNoNjpPtR36EzE3PlJRlgvCaJ-IKLo9TGLvn_XyjvAe42sPoTmvVq2d76A5_aa_MpaIKPvw-Pj7FLj__nvKMm7TPHUuszVLs/s320/sma+10.png" width="245" /></a></div>
He is described on many times as looking like a girl. Which I guess he sort of does. They did a hilarious interview with his mum who was just like "yeah he looks awful". haha. However, I don't think his hair is too bad. The purple is obviously a loud statement but its quite fun and its a nice shade of purple. The worst thing about him is how orange he is. (I'm really not a fan of fake-tan. I don't think I'll ever understand the attraction of being orange...)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgQk74LIMslu6sVkjKz3GnXgBTkfdffDQgT4m-0czMWrb8rOM5_Nzcj45V60FO3CYHn8vzRPT6JRVAH7Ky1DlnEvXWO-fK3mL1-4G71dAIZyMpoECNbOqT3MIcVee5YSPNv-o7EAKJ4bU/s1600/sma+12.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgQk74LIMslu6sVkjKz3GnXgBTkfdffDQgT4m-0czMWrb8rOM5_Nzcj45V60FO3CYHn8vzRPT6JRVAH7Ky1DlnEvXWO-fK3mL1-4G71dAIZyMpoECNbOqT3MIcVee5YSPNv-o7EAKJ4bU/s1600/sma+12.png" /></a></div>
This is Ryan after. Again, doesn't he look so normal..!?! Its nice to see all the fake tan gone. Unlike Tess and Nina he seemed by the end of he show to have kept his look having exchanged his real fur coats for a granddad Cardigan. Yeah Cardigans!!!<br />
<br />
<b>Best Comedy moment</b><br />
They also did some random interviews with people from the streets of Cardiff. Here was my favourite one:<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-kQnn9ro7MNF4ZWR96Ouq0pMxCyhmQkatpdsHlBLjJEul7CWK0sbWs4iKN0XKwqWUjkMb6TmmiKmZ1KMKGFnOhmyVwNVZIVxd2MQQRt-Q23cnlqwLeUFFIw473pp0mY4SelF-qmimGFg/s1600/sma+9.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="182" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-kQnn9ro7MNF4ZWR96Ouq0pMxCyhmQkatpdsHlBLjJEul7CWK0sbWs4iKN0XKwqWUjkMb6TmmiKmZ1KMKGFnOhmyVwNVZIVxd2MQQRt-Q23cnlqwLeUFFIw473pp0mY4SelF-qmimGFg/s320/sma+9.png" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">POD:"Is this the normal look for men in Wales?" Answer: "Maybe a bit more fake tan"</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<b>Overall</b><br />
Is it bad that I found watching Snog, Marry or Avoid really hilarious and entertaining..? I must have the worst taste in television programmes ever.<br />
I loved it, everyone on the show was so weird!!! The tone of the show is kept very light-hearted, the people never seem that offended when POD tells them how awful they look. The best quote was: "POD would like know, how much does it cost to look this cheap". Lolz. What a show.<br />

I had never seen it before and I did not even know the plot. If anyone else had tried to watch Shakespeare without knowing the plot beforehand, you'll know how easy it is to suddenly get lost in the middle with no idea who anyone is or what the hell is happening. I'll admit I'm probably worse than most people as I can manage to get lost while watching James Bond films. So the first 20minutes I didn't know what was going on as per usual, however once I got a grip of the characters I really got into it. Henry IV part 1 is basically a medieval coming of age story. The main character Prince Hal spends the first part of the play playing immature jokes on his friends however by the end we see Prince Hal step up and become a leader.<br />
The best part was that <b><a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/EdmundOG/Robin%20Hood/Alan.jpg" style="color: black;" target="_blank">Alan a Dale</a></b> from the<a href="http://www.robinhood.info/robinhood/bbc_robinhood1.jpg" target="_blank"> <span style="color: black;">BBC robin hood series</span></a> popped up as Hotspur (the rebelling Lord). If you ever watched that series, you should watch this because It's like having Alan back..! I still love him so much.<br />
I'm going to see a performance of Henry IV part 1 later this year so Its great that I will actually know the plot for once when I go to see Shakespeare. haha.<br />
<br />
Anyway, Here are some of the memorable hairstyles that were in the show:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFQwfRpEqnG_F5E9wgJcca0bCXTq9DnWY4CyWh2W-ggo3Fl9kLoLkE8D79ERRyAvFv_5WvqFKJ2HHNx7vmSF-0W8EQJ3EMh6oUf-h7Do8ae5qQhR5X6otJrIDEgem4T_y4W8QUH9q9lWU/s1600/henry+IV+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFQwfRpEqnG_F5E9wgJcca0bCXTq9DnWY4CyWh2W-ggo3Fl9kLoLkE8D79ERRyAvFv_5WvqFKJ2HHNx7vmSF-0W8EQJ3EMh6oUf-h7Do8ae5qQhR5X6otJrIDEgem4T_y4W8QUH9q9lWU/s640/henry+IV+1.png" width="640" /></a></div>
This is Hotspur's wife, in this scene she wears an elaborate hairstyle with braids and an expensive looking hair piece as well which I really liked. I guess this scene shows well Hotspur's wealth and status as his wife is wearing expensive, fancy clothes as well as this complex hairstyle. So from what I can tell, the hair at the back of her head has been used to make a small bun. Then the hair left over at the back of the head is split into two pieces and each is braided down. These braids are then looped round the front of the head. The hair at the front of the head is then braided all the way down and then looped round to the top of the head and back to the bun. I'm guessing the actress used extensions because this style looks like it required a load of hair.<br />

This is Falstaff, his character provides much of the comedy of the play. He is massively fat with his face surrounded by a mass of curly white hair. He does sort of look like a grubby, medieval Father Christmas with his massive white beard and long hair. I guess this makes him look sort of 'jolly' and it does back up the humorous side to this character. <br />

Ah I love this two. Prince Hal (left) and his partner in crime Poins. His hair is longish, wavy and messy and a dark blonde colour. This photo shows how great Prince Hal still looks with wet hair. Poins has a smater hairstyle. He has a centre parting and then the sides are smoothed down.<br />

This character was the welsh wife of Mortimer - one of the rebels. All she really did was sing for a bit and that's all we saw of her. She has a hair taping style with a hair piece woven in across the front of her head which goes all the way round the edge.The hair in the middle makes a small bun which also has a hair piece woven in. Here is<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqbAdvL8kME&feature=plcp" target="_blank"> <b><span style="color: black;">a video</span></b></a> about how to do hair taping<br />

Its a very pretty style but an absolute nightmare to try and do on yourself. In my practicing I've picked up a lot of tips on achieving a perfect crown braid. I've also got some links to the best videos which have helped me learn how to crown braid. :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzopQXS8Y39D3zssXibYck0mUTdwBOycYZMFrznKZGQH2RQCcbLM-fmwj5qgtu_0n-zzDDqfkg4ttBjRkqcA7C3zRm-ID3ibr-Ylzr-tB2TpW0TLjX9iUmamuH3ZM5VfvKSADiyOKE2g0/s1600/Crown+11.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzopQXS8Y39D3zssXibYck0mUTdwBOycYZMFrznKZGQH2RQCcbLM-fmwj5qgtu_0n-zzDDqfkg4ttBjRkqcA7C3zRm-ID3ibr-Ylzr-tB2TpW0TLjX9iUmamuH3ZM5VfvKSADiyOKE2g0/s320/Crown+11.png" width="256" /></a></div>
<br />
So a Crown Braid is where you braid your hair all the way around your head in a circle so it looks like a crown. As in this braid you are going to braid the whole way around back to where you started, the actual starting position is not important. The most popular places to start are either at the front of your head, with a side parting, or at the back of the head. Where to start is really your own choice and it is useful to practice a few diferent places to find what works best for you. Personally, I like to start at the back of my head. This is because it means you don't have to do the complex changing of hand position as you braid round the back of the head which means I can usually finish the braid faster and it comes out more neat. <br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
So to do a crown braid. First chose a place to start. In this post I'm going to do my usual method of starting at the back of the head. However, if you start somewhere else, the method will be the same but obviously this method will be in the wrong order for you. Next part your hair at the starting point. Do NOT part your hair neatly using a comb as this results in ugly part lines in the finished hairstyle. Instead messily part your hair using your hands to section the hair. Check using a mirror that there is no obvious part. Okay now you'll need to decide which direction your going to braid (clockwise or anticlockwise) the section of hair which you will not be braiding until last put out of the way, it might help to tie a small section of this hair back with a hair band. In my case I like to tie the whole of one side of my hair back and out of the way so I can start with the other side first. I like my crown braids to be dutch braids but you can do a french braid or a 2-strand twist braid or another variation. <b><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzmpOIT3Bco" style="color: black;" target="_blank">This video</a></b> explains these different types of braids really well.<br />

Starting at the back, you have to first braid upside down round to the front of your head. Try to braid as tightly as possible and make sure the hair added into the top strand is in neat sections and lies flat. You should try to make sure all sections come from a point at the top of your head. As you braid round the front, let out the hair tied back and start to incorporate this hair into the braid. Depending on how forward you want the braid to lie on your head will depend how far back you will pull the braid.<br />

<br />
The next part should be a lot easier because it is just like doing a regular side braid such as the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE0tnr4QaoU" style="color: black;" target="_blank">"Katniss braid"</a>. Keep going until you get to the back to your head to where you started and incorporate all the remaining hair into the braid. After this, braid down the rest of the hair and secure the end with a hair elastic. Then take the end and wrap it around your head. Pin it into place and try to hide the end behind your original braid. Hopefully now you have a completed crown braid!<br />

<br />
My crown braids always end up slightly messy but that's the best I can manage. Its good that messy hairstyles are in fashion at the moment.. haha<br />
<br />
So, this is how you should do a crown braid with medium length hair. If you have longer hair,<b> <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw9tgIIkUII&feature=g-user-u" style="color: black;" target="_blank">here is a video</a></b> for a method that is MUCH easier as it avoids any upside down braiding. Sadly my hair is not yet long enough to do this method, but once it is I will definitely use this. <br />
Other good videos for crown braids are<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6WIcZSlFYk&feature=plcp" target="_blank"> <span style="color: black;">this one which shows how to do a crown braid staring from the front</span></a> and<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tjLWkfiHvE" style="color: black;" target="_blank"> this one which shows one starting from the back of the head</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
Here are some other cute variations:<br />
<b><a href="http://zombielace.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/summer-solutions-braid-crown.html" style="color: black;" target="_blank">This crown braid</a></b> involves no french braiding, it is made up of single 3 strand braids only<br />
<b><a href="http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/5-minutes/braided-crown/" style="color: black;" target="_blank">This is good</a></b> if your doing someone else s hair. It shows how to get a very neat crown braid<br />

Its become a little predicable and same-y over the recent series and I lost some interest in the show. However, is still entertaining and I do like the music in glee. This inspiration for this post came from the fact that Sue makes so many jokes about Will Schusters hair. I when I say so many I really mean it. I think we get about 1 different one per episode.<br />
My favourites: <br />
"Oh William I wouldn’t dare lean on you, there’s so much grease in your hair I'd probably slide right off."<br />
"I just lost my train of thought because you have so much margarine in your hair..."<br />
"Hey, buddy. Get a haircut. It looks awful."<br />

According to<a href="http://www.vulture.com/2010/04/glees_matthew_morrison_answers.html" target="_blank"> <span style="color: black;">this article</span></a> I found though, the actor playing Will, Mathew Morrison, doesn't actually use product on this hair. I have to admit though, It never looked like he ever had much gel or anything in his hair to me while watching the show.<br />
I love that sue makes jokes about his hair, reminds me of me, if someone has bad hair they deserve to be made fun of. Having said that, personally I don't think Wills hair is THAT bad, Its not great but its not embarrassingly bad. I think I'm just not a fan of how short and curly it is. Its also an annoying colour, that shade that doesn't really seem to have a name. Its a brown with coppery-blonde tones in it so it changes colour between <a href="http://l.yimg.com/ea/im_sigg9yMxAxfci2VlOg3ncwLmrA---x360-q80/img/-/100922/matthewmo_jorda_61643402_600_169j74u-169j752.jpg" target="_blank">dark brown</a> and <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh51lSB7gQLQhsHJcZW4lHjHaXrXnEUcyxXP3rea3l9Go4cw3b2OGIHDJjIoWzq5x5bBkE6i8kyFAo7EzBCggdCQHD_VsYtMsWK3UwsV87UZ4IswdkuVA59baosIr4x0EdgDAa0uLYGTi4/s1600/F7EAD488-7726-4E0B-AC4D-BB29ED9ECC7E_extra.jpg" target="_blank">dark blonde</a> depending on the light. How annoying. <br />

Quinn was created to be the pretty popular one on glee, at the start on the show she was shown to be quite bitchy but over the series we see a much softer side to quin. She is leader of the celibacy club, which is reflected in how she looks. her hair is long and blonde but also simple and conservative. She also often braids her bangs across the top of her head to give a cute braided style.<br />

In series 3 she goes a bit mental and goes all punk. This was so her best look, she looked amazing with pink hair!!! I was gutted when she changed back to her normal pretty blonde. I liked her hair better<a href="http://www.hairstyles.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/dianna-agron-straightened-bob.png" target="_blank"><span style="color: black;"> short</span> </a>though. It made her look a more stylish and less young.<br />

<b> </b>Tina has long brown hair. However at various points during the show she changes her hair various ways. She gets blue sections in her hair, either by extensions or actually dying her hair (I don't know which). I think she has also had purple sections in some episodes. Another look she has had is when she dyed he ends of her hair<a href="http://images.wikia.com/glee/images/9/9b/Jenna-wiki.jpg" target="_blank"> <span style="color: black;">a slightly lighter brown</span></a> in an ombre style. At some point she also get <a href="http://s3.amazonaws.com/curvio/app/public/system/screenshots/3408/original/Tina%27sWhiteBelt.png?1337189830" style="color: black;" target="_blank">a full fringe</a>, I don't really like this, she looks better with longer layers and a centre parting I think. The different coloured bits are quite cool as well I guess. <br />

I love puck, well I did until he became obsessed with Lauren the fat wrestler in season 2, I thought that story line was just a bit odd. I still like him though. His mohawk hairstyle is quite famous on glee. As a general rule, I do not like Mohawks because, well, there stupid. However, I think Puck has brought me around a little. Apparently for season 4 he has shaved it off according to <a href="http://www.wetpaint.com/glee/articles/glee-season-4-speculation-does-mark-sallings-shaved-mohawk-mean-hes-off-the-show" target="_blank">this article</a> Gutted, but he has said in the past he <a href="http://articles.nydailynews.com/2009-12-07/entertainment/17941697_1_mohawk-sexiest-bad-boy" style="color: black;" target="_blank">doesn't really like his mohawk</a>, so its good he's finally allowed to get rid of it. :)<b> </b><br />

<b>Thats all I am going to do for now, I may revisit Glee hairstyles at some point and talk about some of the other characters later. </b>Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02541042866022102878noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3597403924342483847.post-67823756489422579162012-07-10T16:46:00.000+01:002012-07-10T23:45:09.706+01:00Hair Treatment Reviews: Egg hair maskI like using home-made hair masks, made from the everyday ingredients found in my kitchen. I discovered do-it-yourself hair treatments earlier this year and became really interested in them. Last night I did a strengthening egg hair mask. The main reason I did this was because the ends of my hair were beginning to look a little damaged and I hoped the mask would add some moisture and shine back into my ends and generally make them look more healthy. I had read a few different recipes on the internet and adapted some of them to come up with my own:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMZTEeZnro0Jf3WH6I3KtEA3HBoHkQ-z4KIfcUXSl7Gq8BZ3pH3bRr8_KUP5ISKTsEtaHLOnPj3G_fzgQN15tsWUiX4Giv-BS-GdCNy3oZuWJbBNiQt_q2UNCPQNAZJP2msvqsnTwQr1o/s1600/hair+mask.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMZTEeZnro0Jf3WH6I3KtEA3HBoHkQ-z4KIfcUXSl7Gq8BZ3pH3bRr8_KUP5ISKTsEtaHLOnPj3G_fzgQN15tsWUiX4Giv-BS-GdCNy3oZuWJbBNiQt_q2UNCPQNAZJP2msvqsnTwQr1o/s400/hair+mask.png" width="400" /></a></div>
I took 1 egg and cracked it into bowl and whisked the yolk and white together. I added a spoon of olive oil and a spoon of honey and mixed them all together. The resulting mixture looks like an eggy gloop. It doesn't smell bad though, I could only smell the strong scent of the olive oil.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
As I wanted to work on my ends only, I applied the mixture just to my ends by dipping them into the mixture and using my hands to work it into the hair (its helps to dampen your hair first). If you want overall treatment then you can work the mixture into all of your hair applying to the scalp and the ends.<br />
Next I tied my hair up on the top of my head and covered my hair with a plastic bag and then a towel. This step can be quite annoying because the mixture starts running down your face and dripping onto the floor. My only tip is to be wrap your hair up as fast as possible so it doesn't drip as much. You'll look slightly ridiculous but its fine, just go with it. You want to have it tied up like this to give the mixture time to soak into your hair or whatever. Leave this for about 30 minutes before washing the mixture off. I usually then just let my hair dry naturally.<br />
<br />
So, does it work? Well, I've found the results vary, but usually for me, my hair feels a lot a lot nicer to touch after a treatment: it feels a lot silkier and shinier. I couldn't say if it was actually healthier though. Sometimes I've found its a bit too greasy the next day, I usually re-wash my hair when that happens. Today my ends feel really good. Also, interestingly, they were much more easy to braid this morning, more manageable and less frizzy than usual. I actually like just using the treatment on the ends, it is easier to do and it means that your roots won't feel greasy the next day. <br />
But try it out for yourself. Its actually quite fun to do and you'll (hopefully) get really nice silky hair without having to buy some expensive commercial hair mask.I am going to carry on experimenting, I'll try to do some more reviews of any new combinations that I try.<br />
